Stormwater Information
The City of Kirksville stormwater design criteria should serve as a guide for most stormwater improvements for drainage areas less than 240 acres. Engineering Consultants for private developers are encouraged to use and follow the practices and procedures outlined in the criteria. Drainage calculations are required in the submittal process for development approval that is reviewed by the Engineering Department.
Based on the stormwater runoff and impacts to the downstream storm sewer system, certain developments may require stormwater detention design. These guidelines and standards provide a uniform design method that is consistent with the state and federal highway standards and utilize products produced from local industrial manufacturers.
